The crossover SUV fills the gap created by the departure of the Chevrolet TrailBlazer, but unlike the latter the Traverse has improved people carrying ability thanks to its long length and ample three row seating. The Traverse wears a contemporary crossover silhouette which is uncluttered yet classy.

The fascia has the new Chevrolet look thanks to the twin-port grille with a central slat carrying the Chevy bow tie. The interior too carries over the understated look of the exterior. The Traverse scores in terms of interior comfort and equipment, which is generous depending on the trim version chosen.

Gm has recently announced that it will be recalling several of their vehicles as specific models have posed a safety threat to their owners.  Car recalls can be over a part as small as a Car Radio or a Car CD Player.    In example, Toyota, has experienced issues with both the Toyota Car Radio on the Rav4 and the Gas Pedal on several of its models within the past few years.  Similar to the Toyota Gas Pedal recall, GM is now facing a recall in regards to safety with the seat belt security on the Buick Enclave, the GMC Acadia, the Chevrolet Traverse, and the Saturn Outlook.

                How will this affect GM’s image from here on out?  Apparently, the problem with the seatbelts is on the back seat of the 2009 and 2010 years of the listed models.  If you have not experienced a car recall yourself, it is not such a glamorous process and it can involve a significant amount of time off the road.    I am curious to see how GM owners will react to this identified issue.  Small recalls involving the safety of a company’s vehicles can really deteriorate a strong brand and create long-term damage despite the technical simplicity of the issue.  As seen with Toyota, the Gas Pedal issue burned bridges with loyal customers and really changed the public’s view of the company’s integrity.  I hope this does not create the same issue for such a strong, American-made brand.
